Punjab combines drug enforcement with addiction treatment in anti-narcotics drive

Punjab's Safe Punjab Helpline has facilitated over 25,000 drug-related arrests since March 2025. Authorities seized substantial quantities of heroin, opium, and other narcotics during this period. The campaign also recovered significant amounts of suspected drug money and registered many commercial quantity cases. Police connected thousands of individuals struggling with addiction to de-addiction and treatment centers. This initiative effectively combines enforcement actions with citizen-generated intelligence for drug control.
