Government may seek Parliamentary nod for additional spending

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may seek parliamentary approval for additional spending. Increased expenditure on fertiliser subsidies and electronics manufacturing initiatives is driving this need. GST and direct tax revenues remain on track, and DIPAM is pushing for additional realisations. The IDBI Bank transaction's finalisation could provide significant financial comfort. Sitharaman aims to maintain the government's fiscal deficit target of 4.3% of GDP.
