Rahul Gandhi to visit Manipur on July 8, first time as leader of opposition

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, will visit Manipur on Monday to meet people affected by recent violence in various districts of the northeastern state. This visit marks Gandhi's third trip to the conflict-ridden state and his first as the leader of the opposition. State Congress president K Meghachandra confirmed that Gandhi will travel from Delhi to Silchar by flight and will then proceed to Jiribam district, where fresh violence occurred on June 6.
