Badminton Coach sentenced to 5 year rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing student

A 27-year-old coach has been sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by a special POCSO court for sexually abusing a 10-year-old student during badminton practice. The judge emphasized that slapping and pinching cannot be considered as punishment for mistakes. The victim had been coached by the accused for a month and a half prior to the incident. The judge stated that the intentional touching and inappropriate punishment were unacceptable. The accused was fined Rs 5,000 and instructed to pay it to the victim.
