40 trapped in Char Dham tunnel crash; rescue ops on war footing

A portion of an under-construction tunnel of the Char Dham all-weather highway project collapsed in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. Around 40 laborers are feared trapped inside. Rescue teams are working to reach them and provide oxygen and food supply. The collapse occurred near the Silkayara side of the tunnel, but there is a safe space between the landslide area and the tunnel's dead-end.
