Delhi Police gets DCW notice over online sale of obscene pictures of goddesses, registers FIR

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR after obscene pictures featuring Hindu goddesses were allegedly sold online. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to the police after receiving a complaint about the objectionable pictures. The DCW has demanded that the accused be arrested and the content be removed from the internet, as it has the potential to hurt religious sentiments and cause enmity among groups. The police have registered a case under sections 295A and 67A of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
