Fingerprints scan via software nails criminals in matter of hours

The software—AMBIS (Automated Multi-modal Biometric Identification System)—and an invisible crew of close to 300 cops from the state CID’s Fingerprint Bureau have quietly contributed towards solving 178 criminal offences in Maharashtra since May 2022. These offences include thefts and robberies of valuables worth Rs 7 crore.
