Google celebrates 100th birth anniversary of Punjabi poet, author Amrita Pritam with a doodle

Google celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Punjabi author, essayist and poet Amrita Pritam. Hailed as the leading 20th-century poet of the Punjabi language, Pritam is best remembered for the poignant poem, 'Ajj aakhaan Waris Shah nu. Amongst her 28 novels, her work 'Pinjar' (1950) is considered to be the best literature written in the backdrop of Partition.
